Hi,
I started off over at the cancercure group. I want to share my
experience and learn everything I can to put it in remission.

I will cut and paste my postings from the other group so you have an
idea what I've done so far. I look forward to corresponding with
everyone here.

Pat Thomas

Hi, My name is Pat. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Jan 2003. I
had a lumpectomy and radiation treatment. My tumor was 2.5 cm, ER-
Negative (had a hysterectomy back in 1992), Histological grade 3, with
negative nodes, and clear margins. Though it was considered a high
grade tumor I opted not to have chemotherapy because of my fear of it
doing more harm than good. I had no invasion of cancer in my
auxillary lymph nodes, they removed 6 to verify that. I know that
they cannot trace microscopic cancer cells but for all practical
purposes they considered me cancer-free. Well I am aware that once a
tumor is invaded (biopsy, surgery...) cancer cells are released into
the body.

I am currently looking for alternative methods of cleaning up the
remaining cancer in my body as I have had a recurrence of the cancer
found in one lymph node in the supra-clavicular area this past
October. They say it is not new cancer, it is related to the original
cancer. I went through a MRI, CT scan, bone scan, and PET scan. It
showed cancer nowhere else but in that one node which was surgically
removed.

I live in La Crosse, Wisconsin and have not located an alternative
health care facility that can offer services in dealing with cancer
but I am still looking. I've only been here since August. I am
currently on medicaid which has paid for all my treatments. I am
hoping that I can find an alternative service that accepts medicaid
or at least will work with me regarding fees.

If there is anyone out there who has undergone such a situation
simular as mine I would appreciate your input.

Subject: Started my non-toxic therapy treatment

Here is an update on my road to recovery...

I have started a detox immune building program with Dr. Patrick Scott
here in La Crosse. For my colon he has me using Magnesium Glycinate
and Colon Clear. To deal with bacteria he has me using HMF Super
Powder and Undecenoic Acid AntiFungal Formula. For my lymph nodes,
Lymphtone III and Drainage Tone Homeopathic Formula. He also
prescribed Picrasma Excelsa and Spironil for parasites. To build up
my immune system he has me taking Beyond C, emulsified Vitamin A,
Balanced Omega, Basic Nutrient III and a nasty concoction call Viscum
Album (European Mistletoe). He has me on a yeast-free diet and I have
been tested for food allergies.

For my spirit, he has me using a homoremedy called Billy Goat Plum
and an amino acid called d-leucine which I only used for the first
week. I'm using acupressure on nine points of my body along with
affirmations using color therapy. He also suggested that I
participate in a counsel session with a group that uses the Hellinger
family constellation workshop. I did get a chance to go to an intro
session and was very impressed. I couldn't afford the weekend
workshop but they will be back in La Crosse by March. I will try then.

The hardest part of all of this is the money. I am on medicaid. Even
regular insurance companies don't cover these kind of treatments but
I am determined to follow through with this even though I had to
break everything down into portions I could afford.

My onocologist, Dr. Witte, seems very supportive of my efforts to
avoid chemo and is looking into having my tumor retested for the HER-
2 gene and to see if the recent tumor may have changed its status
from ER-Negative to ER-Positive which is rare but does happen. This
will open other options regarding therapy should my cancer start to
spread. Right now all tests indicate that it has not spread but we
all know the tests cannot track microscopic cancer cells.

I'll share my experiences has they happen. I would be curious who
else is using alternative therapies for their cancer and how it's
going for them.

Pat

Had another visit with my practitioner and onocologist. Still on my
detox program and it seems to be coming along fine. Keep thinking I
will see or experience profound changes but the changes have been
somewhat subtle which can be frustrating. I did get treated for my
milk sensitivity so I can start the Budwig diet. Still keeping yeast
causing foods out of my diet. My practitioner wants me to get the
rest of the silver fillings out (3 left) and gave me a name of a good
dentist in town who specializes in that.

My onocologist had my tumor retested and found that it does express
an over abundance of the HER-2 protein. He says this gives me another
option for treatment without going through chemotherapy. The drug
that would be used is called Herceptin. I've done some study on it
and the main side effect of its use is cardiotoxicity but that seems
more pronounced when used with chemotherapy drugs. Used alone the
risk drops. He's willing to wait till I am near the end of my detox
program before starting me on it, about another month. He gave me a
brief physical asked some questions and pretty much sent me on my
way. He says physically I am looking pretty good but if I should have
any unusual symptoms, pains, or find anymore lumps to come in
immediately. I asked him if there were any kind of tests I needed to
take to check activity of the cancer and he said not really, not for
breast cancer. What tests there are he really doesn't consider highly
reliable. He's been doing this for 25 years so I won't doubt him
especially with the support I am getting from him. I consider myself
lucky.

After I'm done with my desensitation protocol (5 days) I'll start the
budwig protocol. That's all for now!

Pat
