Green Tea and Nutrition in Fighting Cancer   Message List

My wife is a recovering breast cancer survivor (stage 1). She was
diagnosed when she was 43 with both an invasive lump and in Situ
cancer in her right breast.

Her being cancer free 4 years later was due to surgery and the use
of diet, supplements and green tea to help fight the disease and
boost her immune system. NO chemo NO radiation -- although at least
one oncologist at Sloan Kettering recommended those options. My wife
is Japanese and has a slight build -- frankly we felt the cure would
be worse for her than the disease if other options to chemo and
radiation existed.

From the beginning we decided we were not going to sit back passivly
and let the doctors simply prescribe options for our war on Cancer --
rather we were going to take action and proactively do something
about it through research and a change in diet - from nutrition that
exacerabted or fed the cancer to nutrition that starved it and
enhanced natural immune system activities. We didn't turn away from
traditional medicine, rather we asked questions and added another
set of "ammunition" which we assumed responsibility and action for
in our war with the disease.

We found an Oncologist -- Dr. Gaynor -- who also imployed
traditional and non-traditional (amazing nutrition would be called
non-traditional) methods in fighting cancer and worked with him
thoughout my wife's illness.

My wife used Tamoxifan for a time after surgery but then went off it
after about a year with her oncologist's ok. We were told Asian
incidence of cancer increases dramatically about 10 years after
arrival in the states -- presumably due to the change of diet and
increase in fatty and junk foods and use of hormones, pesticides etc
in the food supply..

We were impressed with the information about Green Tea and the fact
that while Japan had some of the lowest rates of cancer -- the
Shikouku Region, where green tea is grown -- had even a
statistically significant smaller ratio of cancer victims.

We were so impressed in fact that when she had the opportunity to
join the most reputable green tea company from Japan as it was
breaking into the US market, she did. The product was well knows on
her own country for being tasty, extremely fresh and manufactured to
the highest standards -- and given our focus on health it had to
meet those high standards.

Now we drink green tea 3-5 times a day in addition to watching our
diet and taking vitamins and supplements and, as I said, my wife
has been cancer free for four years. The green tea really cleanses
the system -- which shouldn't be a surprise because it combines the
natural healing properties that green tea provides (as an anti-
oxidant) with water -- which you should be drinking anyway every
day. So by drinking green tea, you're kind of killing two birds with
one stone on the nutrition front.

That's our story. If you have an interest in trying green tea of the
highest qualisty or simply visiting our information forum, please
drop by online to say hello: http://greentealovers.com

We've tried to provide as much information as possible on the
history of green tea, the individual chemistry of each of its
ingredients, the types of green tea available and it benefits in
fighting a variety of diseases as new information and studies
appear. If you visit, at the least you will come away with
information you may not have known previously.

Regards, best wishes in your battle and good health to all,

Jonathan
