To the group,
My Name is Cory.
I am a First year media student in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I will be
proposing a documentary idea this week, with the hopes that it will
get produced. In order for this documentary to be produced I need
some assistance from my potential audience.
I am looking for constructive input into overall idea of this
documentary. I am looking for both sides of the story, so if you
believe that I am going in a wrong direction then please tell me as
well. Here is a brief overview of the topics presented:
The Ideas
I want to show how patient rights are being dealt with right now.
It is a persons right to choose alternative methods or any other
method for that matter whether it has been called a fake or not. I
want to show the benefits of alternative medicine for once ( seeing
as most major media doesn't seem to want to do). While exposing the
good sides of alternative therapies, this documentary will also show
that less reputable alternative treatments and even false treatment
exist.
The second idea that is presented is that it is time to overhaul
the medical system. Questions will be raised about the number of
people dieing each year from illness and even their own medical
system.
The therapies
There are three treatments mentioned in this documentary: High pH
therapy using Cesium, Aloe Vera (its uses in boosting the immune
system for cancer and HIV patients, and Ozone therapy. I am aware
that many others exist, but this documentary can only be so long.
The implications
The lack of competition in the medicine industry will be explored.
This documentary will question the FDA's and the AMA's attacks on
alternative therapies.
Who?
Public opinion will be a major component of this documentary. It is
only through their opinion that this documentary will work. Without
them it will resemble just another conspiracy film. I have talked
with Daniel Haley, author of "Politics in Healing", and he has been
very supportive and helpful. He has helped guide the infomation that
will be used and presented. This is also where anyone reading this
posting comes in.
There are four questions pertaining to the usefulness of this
documentary that I must get answered. For anyone willing to help,
please answer the questions bellow. If you think that this
documentary idea needs improvement I am open to constructive input
(please note that I have not been able to include every single aspect
into the above description. If you would like more information I can
address any of your question.)
Questions
1. Why would the video be of use?
2. How would it be used by the end-user?
3. Is it useful as a springboard for discussion?
4. Does it offer a fair portrayal of the subject?
Any input will be helpful. Thank you for your time. My email is
corydawson@.... If you have any questions please feel free to
email me.
Sincerely
Cory Dawson
