Hi all,
My name is Elizabeth Rufus and I joined this group in order to be
able to post a message on your message board. I am not a survivor of
cancer but I have lost 4 family members to cancer. There was a time
when the cancer of others devastated me and almost cost me my life.
I received the email below about a 9 year old child with Lukemia who
needs to hear from survivors in order to have the faith that he can
also heal. I am so glad to know that you all are out there sharing
TRUTH--that cancer is not necessarily terminal. Please read the
message below and respond.
Thank you,
Pastor Elizabeth Rufus

This is from my friend Betsy. She is looking for a survivor of ALL
Leukemia
to offer hope to a 9year old sufferer. If you know of anyone, please
let
me
[(561) 630-9507] or her (smcohen@...) know. Her note
below
explains the situation better.
Good Afternoon All:
As you can see from the very long email list, I am reaching out to
everyone
on this request.
I have a dear friend, Cindy Felder, whose son Zachary is under the
care of
physicians at Miami Children's Hospital for ALL Leukemia. Zachary is
9
years
old and suffered a relapse of the leukemia after 7 years of
remission.
When
Cindy and I were talking a couple of days ago about the need for
Zachary to
communicate with others who have survived ALL Leukemia under similar
circumstances, I volunteered to help Cindy locate these survivors.
Unfortunately, finding them is not the easiest thing to do.
I am hoping that you may be able to help me locate an ALL Leukemia
survivor.
Zachary is such a wonderful boy with a very strong will to survive.
Yet,
sadly, Zachary has not met someone who has survived what he is going
through
(the relapse after so many years). Cindy feels strongly that it will
give
Zachary a boost to be able to talk with (and see if possible) a
survivor,
someone who knows the fears, the anxiety, the pain and the
frustration.
Most
importantly, to meet someone who is living past all of the
nightmares.
Please help me with this very small task. There is so little that,
as a
friend, I can do to help ease their burden. I would like to be able
to
offer
them a solution to this one request.
If you are comfortable passing this email along to others who may
know of
someone, please do so (you can do this by cutting and pasting and
therefore
not passing on everyone else's email address).
Thank you so much.
Warmly,
Betsy Cohen
