Canadian men and women who have a loved one in jail/prison meet here to support one another and share helpful information. Because we, (people who have an incarcerated loved one) discuss a topic of a very sensitive and often personal nature, we ask all new members to forward us an introduction about themselves before joining. This way we know a little about everyone who comes to our group. This brief introduction will be sent to all members via the list, upon a person joining the list. Members may choose to share what they feel comfortable sharing. No one will ask your loved one's charges. It is expected that all members remain active in the group to some extent, especially so that we can all know each other and trust can be built in the group. Members who are silent for a long time, or who never share anything beyond their initial introduction and appear to be lurking will be removed from the list at the moderator's discretion, after a reasonable period of time. This is so that trust can exist in the list.
We seek to be a sensitive member oriented group. Any topic that you would like to discuss, you are free to discuss it here at our list. You will be treated with respect and dignity.
