What we went by was actually looking at what was in the preset itself, looking at the actual output of tones and other factors.  The comments you are looking reflect a tremendous amount of placebo effect.  "This one is supposed to relax me - therefore I must be relaxed".  Most of the presets have a collection of tones that, after they finish mixing with each other, cover a large part of the range from delta through beta.  They are, to use the technical term, pure junk. 

A few, less than 5% were reasonably to very well constructed and did what they advertised they were supposed to do.

Usually, when I buy equipment, I buy from someone who has engineers that have actual training and expertise in what they are doing and whose reputation in the field they are in is excellent.  Generally this type of company has excellent product reviews.   Such is not the case with the Preset library.  Most of the presets were cobbled together by guys looking at the lunarsight frequency list who had no understanding of brainwave entrainment whatsoever.  The reviews were mostly written by similarly skilled reviewers.

I recommend spending some time and learning about entrainment, what happens when you mix lots of tones together and how to make BWE programs that actually do something.

But suit yourself and 'caveat emptor'.
