First - Learning isn't a brainwave state but a set of learned processes for assimilating knowledge so that it can be recalled and used.  Brainwave entrainment can help these processes be more effective.  Learning to play a musical instrument isn't a just assimilating knowledge however.  It requires the additional coordination of the hands and fingers, breathing, the eyes and often the feet to move independently of one another to the extent that the moves are accomplished without conscious thought.  To some this comes easily while to other the idea of using foot pedal while attempting to keep tem fingers moving on a keyboard or the feet working a bass drum and a high hat while beating on the rest of the drums is a Herculean task.
