Re: Headphones

The carriers in most binaural beat applications  will be in the 100 to 300 Hz range.  Much higher can be a bit  shrill and hard on the ears.   A binauaral beat is caused by the difference between the two carriers being detected by the brain.  A carrier of 200 Hz and one of 206 Hz will result in a binaural beat of  6 Hz.  Nothing in the subaudible range and you couldn't hear it if there was.

Higher end headphones may have some noise cancelling, bass boost or other feature that may alter your experience.  Reduction in noise may give you less distraction and bass boost may may the carriers sould a bit richer.   A bit of placebo effect from the higher price tag may have been there as well.

I'd gotten some standard monitor $20 headphones that went down to 18 Hz and the recommended $100 ones go down to 5 Hz. I emailed to see if I should go back to any particular level and they said I was probably about where I'd need the lower ones so not to worry and continue as I was. I was just about to move to Flowering Level 1.

It feels like your brain is a big ball of cookie dough someone is mashing by hand. I think I experienced what they call "upheaval" for about a week which is what supposedly happens if you go too strong to quickly. I found myself overly stressed and snapping at the folks I volunteer with.
