I used to do this all the time when I was first using some of the
Monroe H-Plus programs. I was worried about it and called them. They
said that it is not a problem, as mentioned below, the unconscious (or
other than conscious) is still wide awake and processing information.
They told me to listen as I was supposed to and then try the
triggers. I did this and when I tried the triggers, the response was
what had been advertised.
The reason you went to sleep is most likely that you never really
relax, even when sleeping. The first noticeable effect of entrainment
below alpha is that they fall deeply asleep. The H-Plus programs and
many others work you through relaxation starting at the top of your
head and working down to your toes. I was so wound up when I started
them that it was months before I ever got much blow my chest without
falling asleep. Amazingly enough though, I would awaken on queue when
I was told to. Maybe I had slipped into trance on the way or maybe
the unconscious prompted me to get up.
We take the unconscious for granted and often speak as though we
really understand how and why it works. We know that the unconscious
responds best to phrases that are very simplistic in subliminals and
some there fore discount that the unconscious works at any meaningful
level. The reason is that we know that the unconscious is not bound
to any mechanism as clumsy and ambiguous as spoken/written language
rather working in an internal symbology that operates several
magnitudes of order faster than your conscious, language bound mind.
My adventures in Lucid Dreaming are entirely in my unconscious mind
and I have made quantum leaps in my understanding of various
philosophies and other subjects in LD conversations with those whose
works I have read.
Enjoy the program and look into some relaxation programs as well. You
may find that the day to day stress you experience may be carrying
over into the rest of your life. A 20 - 30 minute decompression break
when you get home from work can make such a difference in your life,
your overall energy levels and moods.
