Re: [bulimics] Re: New here and worried

I was a bulimic for 32 years. Purging is not how you deal with problems; purging is how you keep yourself from dealing with them.  You will never be there for your children if you continue to binge and purge.  You too wrapped up in your own head.  I am telling you this because I am a wife and mother and 7 weeks ago I had to have major surgery to correct the damage done by purging.  I COULD HAVE DIED.  Yeah, that makes me mother of the year.  This is your future if you continue.  Saying you don't have time is an excuse.  You have time to binge.  You have money to buy food.  And, whether you realize it or not, your kids know something's wrong.  They do.  Forget therapy.  Find a good 12-step program  like OA go to it and work a program of recovery.  Then you can stop the bullshit and learn how to deal with life.  YOU CAN DO IT!!!  If I can, anyone can.  Good luck.  Stephanie

I feel the same way. I am sorry you are having to deal with this
because I know what it feels like to deal with this. It makes me feel
like I am in so much control when in reality, I am not. I just
started therapy for it about 4 weeks ago and so far that's all I have
figured out. And the only reason I began therapy is because I noticed
the health issues that were starting to come about. I hope it goes
better for all of us soon.
