I thought everyone would like to know that breast health and other
women's health services are being offered as part of the first-ever
National Women's Check-up Day, on Monday, May 12. (I'm on the
support team, and this list seemed like a good way to get the word
out).
Women's Health Week is a project of the U.S. Office of Women's
Health. Working with organizations nationwide, OWH uses the week to
raise awareness about manageable steps women can take to improve
their health.
Check-up Day is the day after Mother's Day and is part of National
Women's Health Week, May 11-17.
Some examples of what's being offered on Check-Up Day:
-- Clinical breast exams
-- Softer mammograms with a breast cushion
-- Blood pressure and glucose screenings
-- No-cost confidential HIV testing
-- Exercise demonstrations
-- Information about diabetes
-- Healthy cooking demonstrations
You can locate a participating provider in your area and find out
what they're doing on Check-Up Day by visiting

I hope you'll all help me spread the news about this important
event. No matter how well we take care of ourselves, there's always
more we can learn!
