Re: [bomri] dehydration

I'm trained in both of those pgms as well. Also, Food Chaining.

It always takes a while after a GI bug to regain foods. Just think how u feel after one. If it takes us -adults- a week, then it will take a picky eater at least 2wks, if not more.

I would enroll the client back in therapy target more variety of foods, esp bland ones.

Bland foods for dehydration--applesauce, popsicles. I would need to know much more about what foods already eaten, age, etc. before making further rec.

Subject: [bomri] dehydration

Just wondering if there are any tips or more strategies for helping families who have gone thru the Beckman oral motor program and the SOS approach and dismissed from me a month ago.... got the rotovirus last week with dehydration... and now refusing to drink... any tips or strategies I can give this parent over the phone as this baby has lost another lb. and just got out of the hospital.  Any foods that work well for hydration that are bland?

Thanks
AMy
