My 3 year-old son with spastic diplegia CP was evaluated by Debra
Beckman on March 11, 2008. She diagnosed dysarthria. We have been
doing the exercises that she recommended, and even have a logbook. We
officially started on March 24. Our son began to use the straw
consistently on April 20. We totally think this was accomplished
thanks to the Beckman method. He is drinking a variety of liquids
like water, sodas, juices. We live in Puerto Rico, but we are
planning to get a re-evaluation every time we go back to Orlando.
