The Bodywork Alliance of Northern California (BANC) group is intended as a regional forum to facilitate information-sharing and professional networking amongst massage therapists and bodyworkers in Northern California (Monterey County and above).

Particularly relevant topics might include local regulatory measures and actions, community outreach to educate about massage, therapeutic partnerships with other healthcare modalities, tips for building a practice, liability issues, health retirement plans for independent contractors, tax saving tips for bodyworkers, strategies to avoid burnout, the importance of community and spiritual practice in bodywork, strategies for dealing with massage-unfriendly municipalities, community service massage, etc.

Since there are thriving lists already for discussion about massage therapy per se, that is not the focus of this group. However, such discussions can develop as a sub-theme as feels comfortable and appropriate to the group members.

Off-topic posts include: self-promotion, commercial advertisements, sexual or erotic massage, and discussion or content that is unprofessional or is outside the intended focus of this group.
