Ha! Thanks for the ass kicking, Renee. My boxing coach knows about the whole
thing and has put everyone at the boxing gym on alert to chase me out if I show
up. :) But I just bought a TRX (post-skin-hacking) and I'm DYING to play with
it.

In addition, I'm currently unemployed. No job + no workout = lots of free time
to munch. I'll definitely give the yoga/pilates/walking thing a shot and try to
stay out
of the pie. :)

How injured are you? I need that information to determine whether to
sympathize or yell at you. LOL ;-)

I had a similar situation and the same advice from the skin cancer doc, not
to lift anything over 5 pounds for a month or something that seemed like
horrible comical overkill to me. You can imagine where this story is headed,
right? I was back in the gym lifting weights and throwing punches the next
day. I only had 4 stitches on a pretty deep biopsy on my left lat, but my
thought was, "I don't care if I rip them out. I don't care if it leaves a
big scar." I'm a terrible patient, but if they really wanted me to hold
still and not mess with my stitches, they'd have tranquilized me and put a
cone on my head.

Now, if you have a giant, deep hole in your back, you might want to take it
easy and not be a dumb ass. :-) You definitely don't want something like
that to get infected or not heal, but don't use it as an excuse for eating
pie every day and not moving at all. There's a sane middle-ground.

I can sympathize with the boob issue, I forgot mine on a three day beach
trip and couldn't run. had to swim more. I got this awesome sports bra from
Lane bryant, it has hooks like a real bra and is easier to get on off. What
if you put on a soft tank top and then the sports bra?

Can you do yoga or pilaties?

Well, the skin cancer doc cut out a pretty good sized patch of my back skin and
I have 9 stitches in my back. He said I'm not allowed to lift anything over 5lb
or do anything strenuous until I get my stitches out in mid-December. I can
walk, but wearing a sports bra rubs on the stitches and I'm a little large in
the chest to walk very vigorously without one.

I'm not sure I have the ability to make it private since I'm just a
moderator and not the owner. However, the sentiment has always been
that every recipe, workout, and motivational tip should be available
to anybody who searches. For the last ten years, people looking for
BFL and fitness info have discovered us mainly through search engines.
That's a big reason the group has survived all this time. New members
can find us, so can former members wanting to return.

Now, the files, the photos, and the ability to post are for members
only, but anybody can join, so "private" is kind of an illusion. The
best approach is to use a first name or nickname, a vague e-mail
address, and share away. That way you're annonymous, but fitness
googlers everywhere still benefit from your ideas and experience.

There have been cases where people have posted too-personal
information using a full name and work e-mail, or accidentally
included a phone number in their signature, or just had second
thoughts about a particular post. In that case, I can find and delete
anything you really don't want popping up in search results.

Truth is I've been a member of this group for a long time and hadn't posted
anything in a while and had edited my membership to read posts directly from the

Hi,

First thing I want to say is that it wasn't my intention to cause suspicion or
creep anyone out. I hadn't even thought of that when I asked the questions.
Truth is I've been a member of this group for a long time and hadn't posted
anything in a while and had edited my membership to read posts directly from the
site. I just had major surgery and was determined never to be a patient again
and thought this would be a great way to get together with people who liked the
same program as I did to motivate myself. That's it.

I am a 40 year old female who lives in Ga.

My hubby just started a job which requires heavy lifting.  Needless to say he is
sore.  This is week 2.  I'm sure he'll get used to it but anyway, is there any
supplement or drink that speeds up recovery that really works?  Is there any
such thing that makes soreness go away quicker - besides the usual ibuprofen,
tylenol etc. ?

I missed the "body weight" part. Since people have been quiet on here for so
long, I just assumed that Tyler was asking about workouts cause we haven't
been talking much.

Renee? could you ask people when they join to have their first post be to
tell us about themselves?

Tyler? Could you tell us a bit about yourself so we know you are a real
person?

Good call, Renee. I thought the question was odd when I saw it. I think people
get lulled into a false sense of security posting on these kinds of groups,
because of the feeling of family you get from "hanging out" with the same
individuals all the time. It is easy to forget that not everyone is who they
appear to be.
Be safe ladies!
Teresa
