Afterburn only ships from Alwyn himself and isn't in stores, but if you want
crazy Cosgrove workouts at the bookstore, check out The New Rules of Lifting
for Women. New Rules is not quite the same extreme fat loss plan as
Afterburn. It's more of an eat and build muscle plan, but swapping out fat
for muscle does tend to make people smaller even if nothing much happens
with the scale.
I just looked, ESE is 78 pages. If you understand the general concept, you
could try intermittent fasting without reading it. I found ESE most helpful
for explaining the research and health benefits of intermittent fasting to
people who thought I'd lost my mind. It's also important to understand you
don't diet AT ALL if you fast. You have to eat at maintenance level or above
(generally 2,000+ cals) on non-fasting days. It didn't trigger even a hint
of a binge for me. It made me a lot more relaxed about food and ended my
cooler-toting habits, but it really wigs some people out. I would not advise
it for binge-prone eaters.
