Well Amy, I've been waiting to see who would be the
first to venture back onto this board after
Thanksgiving. I got derailed the night before Turkey
Day and...haven't been back on track since, except for
fairly steady workouts. But the eating? Let's not
even go there...

I have been terrible too! However my wife and I joined the new Life Fitness
by Discover Mills this weekend and have renewed enthusiasm. We have been
doing spin classes for cardio and the weight gear is always available. Not
like the problems we were having at LA Fitness. I would have to wait to get a
bench, miss my times, people walking and talking on their cell phones on the
treadmills, etc.
The end of the year is always really hard for us because work gets crazy.
Something that has helped us with the eating is Kashi now makes microwave
meals. For nights I can't cook - or don't want to - we have been eating
these. No strange ingredients in them and they're actually pretty good.
Get back on the wagon and start eating better! Every day is a chance to start
again. I have been making health mistakes all year and I've decided I'm not
doing it anymore. Most people are chalking the year up as a waste because
January is so close... Don't fall into this trap and get a jump start on the
new year. You can have 4 weeks under your belt and finish your personal
challenge by February.
Best of luck everyone!

Hey, Amy!
I was doing GREAT on BFL until I hurt my back (again!!!!).
So, I'd be up for a re-start tomorrow. In fact, I resumed workout this
weekend.
This time I am going to be WAY more organized!!

Just starting back up today! Perfect timing to get your emails. I have been
doing a lot of traveling lately. Travel for me usually means terrible eating
and drinking habits. So I've plumped back up. My wife and I kicked BFL off
today and this time we plan to stick to it. I'm sure XMas time will be tough,
but if I can get there being good...I will be extremely happy. Good luck to

Hi Amy,
Its been a long time....well...I'm not in Arizona, moved here a year ago.
But, I will be starting a new program tomorrow...on Tuesday. I will be buying
my food and preparing my meals tonight...at least for one week...but, I've
been lucky enough to have founda workout partner. So, I'll keep you posted on
my progress....
I know what you mean about not being motivated....it was hard to get
going...the exercise part is the easiest for me...its the eating that is
challenging. Do you have any tips on that?
HOpe you're doing well...

Hi, Amy! Yes, yes! I am down 8.6 punds as of last Thursday. Woot! That is my
best result so far out of all the times I've started BFL. I think the key for
me is consistency in exercise, and being sure that my aerobic exercise is not
just huffing, puffing, and hopping around, but also includes some compound moves
with resistance bands, light dumbbells, or even sit-ups. The short (15-20 min.)
Tae Bo workouts on Comcast are terrific.
Glad you are back on the wagon!
Regards,
Lizette

Hah!? I wish I had some advice on the eating part of the program.? I am with you
there.? I know that when I am really determined (and starting from a point on
desperation) I usually stick with the eating program (at least for 7 or 8
weeks).??The hardest part about eating for me is that it is a form of
celebration and comfort.? So, I eat when I am happy, sad, or any emotion in
between.? As long as I keep getting food in my mouth every couple of hours, I
can usually stick with it.
Glad you are starting tomorrow.? This is just in time for the holidays!
Oh yeah, and I have my 10 year highschool reunion in a few weeks.? Gotta look
good for that!

You all have been pretty darn quiet as of late...just

I am in week 6 right now and this has been the most

reaping the rewards of hard work, commitment and
consistency. I've lost 10pounds to date! I will keep
you all posted. I hope you will do the same.

Great job Nina!? I have been quiet, because I am embarrassed to say that I
haven't really stuck with the program.? I though this week was going to be

don't feel like I am in the right frame of mind to do this now.? But, I am
working on that.? And, hearing your success story is definitely inspiring!?

This has been a fairly good week for me, better than last week, but not as good
as I'll need to be if I'm going to make real progress on this challenge. My
workouts, at this point, are more consistent than my clean eating habits. Heh,
heh.
Congrats on week 4!!

Good morning everyone,
As promised I am updating you on my progress. So
today is the end of my 4th week. I weighed myself and
in 4 weeks time I lost 7.3 pounds of scale weight.
Now I have to admit I am a little disappointed,
however, I know exactly why the weight came off this
slow. It took me a couple of weeks to get the hang of
portions, calorie deficiency etc. I think between my
2nd and 3rd week I finally got a good flow going and
that is when the weight started to come off. So that
being said, moving forward, I will continue to
implement my new plan and thus have a more significant
loss at week 8 which happens to fall on the same day
as my very good friends wedding! I wish you all a very
happy Saturday and hope to here from each of you on
your journey through BFL!!

Yipee! Pls let us know your progress tomorrow.
I got a workout in this a.m., and eating is good ...BUT...had a really sick
kid at home last week, and was too zonked to workout (got NO sleep for 4
nights straight).
So back at it...scared to weigh myself, tho!! hee hee!

All,
Haven't heard too much from anyone in a while...how
are you all doing on your programs?
I am weighing myself tom for my 4 weeks. I have
completed 4 WEEKS! Wow! So excited. I will keep you
all posted on progress.
Any other progress out there?

Great to here your progress!! Congrats on your free
day...I LOVE those!!! Today is mine as well. I am so
glad folks are still posting and keeping everyone in
the loop. These updates keep me so motivated. I am
starting week 4 tom and am so very VERY excited! I
don't think I've EVER gotten to week 4 with
consecutive effort before. To date I have lost 5
pounds of scale weight-which is just about right with
this program. I really have no expectations of how
much I have to lose for when...I just know that with
everyday that goes by that I stick to my plan and
envision my dream...I fall more and more in love with
my life! WOW-I haven't told anyone that. Okay I hope
and pray for all of you and wish you nothing but great
things. Please keep us posted and if tom is your free
day....ENJOY!!!

I can't wait. It's almost like we had a free night tonight. I stopped
and picked up some fillets on the way home. I try to limit red meat,
but couldn't help myself. We also had a glass of red wine with
dinner. Paired the steaks with a yam and salad with home grown
tomatoes. :D
Hope everyone has had a great week. I worked out all 5 days. My
workouts were after work this week instead of before. Not the best
way, but my eating was good. Not the same for my wife. A couple of
business dinners and late nights... I told her if you are going to
cheat, at least do it right and don't feel guilty about it ;)
Have a great weekend and congrats to everyone that is trying!

Hi all,
So glad everyone is emailing and pushing through
hurdles to get back on track. I am on week 3 and
feeling great. I was on vacation half of last week
and took my weights with me so was able to stay on
track. I had a great workout this morning and have my
meals ready to go. I had a tough second week
emotionally but worked through it and stayed focused
and on track. My vision is so clear that I see the
end already...so I am going at it full throttle and no
amount of temptation is going to get me THIS time (as
it has habitually in my past experiences)! I can't
wait to weigh and measure myself on week 4...I am
nervous but excited too. Have a great and CLEAN day
everyone!!!

protien and vegtable (a whole meal)....but not sure
what others think.

I did my first extended (40-minute) cardio last night and was running on fumes
by the end. I need to work on increasing my stamina! But my legs feel great.
The scale's not showing much of a weight drop, but fat percentage has decreased
two percentage points. My clothes don't feel any different yet. I have to keep
reminding myself that it's only the third week...
