TANITA Scale: Bizarre Readings   Message List

Hello, all. I hope some of you are still out there? My question concerns this
bodyfat scale. Last week, it showed a weight loss of 5 pounds, and a 1%
reduction in fat.

This week, it shows a GAIN of 2.6 pounds(!), but an additional 1% bodyfat
reduction (so now 2% reduction altogether). How is that possible?

My pants are much looser on me, which feels great, but how can I gain weight
and still have fat% going down? Trust me, I haven''t put on enough muscle to
account for the difference. Does anyone else have one of these odd scales?

As you exercise and eat right you are replacing fat with muscle. Muscle is denser and weighs more than fat. So it is not unusual to see your body fat go down...
