University College London is seeking to appoint a new Research Associate in Health Informatics, to expand the internationally recognised research expertise at the Research Centre for Health Informatics and Multiprofessional Education (CHIME), Division of Population Health. CHIME conducts world leading research in electronic health records, clinical information management, intelligent systems and decision support, quality and governance of health care, patient safety and risk management. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to this research portfolio and to develop new areas of health informatics research, preparing grant applications, and building a research team. The applicant will also participate in the teaching of CHIME’s postgraduate and CPD programmes, contributing to existing provision and developing new modules and courses.
Applicants are expected to have a Doctoral level qualification (or equivalent) in a subject relevant to health informatics, and a track record of high quality research publications in a relevant field. Areas of health informatics of interest to CHIME include: electronic health records, clinical knowledge representation, terminology and ontology, and health data mining. We are particularly seeking applicants whose experience includes working with clinical practitioners. Health informatics is increasingly recognised as a vital area for research and education, and CHIME offers an exciting and challenging environment in which to build an academic career.
