Southern Institute for Health Informatics
10th Annual Conference
Thursday 9th October 2008, LFI, Leatherhead, Surrey
After nine tremendously successful SIHI conferences in Portsmouth, we are
hoping that our choice of a new venue in Leatherhead will make this
year's event equally rewarding for those who attend. The date to put in
your diary is Thursday 9th October and we would like to extend a warm
invitation to you to participate, as either speaker or delegate.
The theme this year is the way that information and communication
technologies (ICT) can enhance the service provision of community care.
More and more health care is being delivered in community settings,
whether this is in local health centres, GP practices or in the patient's
home. Increasingly there is a need to "join up" care in order
to provide the patient with the best possible service. Of course,
providing services at lower cost and with demonstrable effectiveness is
always an issue.
The conference forms one of a series of Telecare Knowledge Network events
this year. There will be a number of keynote speakers and other oral
presentations. In addition, the "Infomart", an informal
information marketplace area, will allow vendors and researchers to set
out a stall to meet people and exchange information. The conference is
supported by Adastra and SEHTA (through TKN).
If you would be interested in attending or participating in any way,
please email us at SIHI@..., write to us at the address below or
telephone us on 023 9284 6438. Proposals for presentations should be
accompanied by a 100-150 word outline and reach us by 11th August if
possible.
