About
the conference…
The
event will recognise that we now have the opportunity to share information with
a wide variety of people, with a view to improving the ability to deliver
better care.
The
conference will explore issues relating to safety, privacy, security,
confidentiality and accessibility, both within and outside the NHS. The latest
developments in the National Programme for IT will be displayed, previewed and
discussed.
Information
Governance will be very important as it lies somewhere in the middle of sharing
and caring. What we need to understand is where and how can we use it to
support the system and move things forwards.
We also
hope to link this event with the general cultural shift taking place as we move
to a connected 'real-time' digital medicine world.
We
hope that the programme will attract a very wide group of people from a cross
section of society including GPs, other practice staff, nurses and allied
health professionals, ICT staff, system suppliers, researchers, patients and
patient groups.
Exhibition and
networking…
As well as the formal programme the conference
provides an excellent opportunity for networking and is supported by an
exhibition that features many of the established IT suppliers to primary care
alongside suppliers with exciting new products.
Exhibition space has previously sold out at this conference. This new
venue offers greater space and we hope to have an even larger number of
exhibitors join us this year. We are keen to involve exhibitors in the
programme, and will encourage stands that describe how products or services
help enable 'sharing and caring'.
