The University of Sydney’s Centre for Infectious Diseases and Microbiology (CIDM) was established as a centre of excellence for the provision of clinical and laboratory services, and to offer internationally competitive education and research programs, in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology. The CIDM sits within the Institute of Clinical Pathology and Medical Research at Westmead Hospital in Sydney, and is renowned for its cutting-edge research relevant to prevention, diagnosis and patient care.
There is an appointment available for a Research Fellow to oversee a grant-funded project in molecular profiling of infections with epidemic potential. To succeed, the appointee will possess a PhD in Biomedical Science or Computer Science/Mathematics, or a Masters in Bioinformatics or relevant field.
The position is full-time fixed term for three years, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.
