will present the findings of a study commissioned by Canada Health Infoway which provides a comparative analysis of automation in general practice in 10 countries, namely:
Australia, Austria, Denmark, England, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland and Sweden. The stimulus for this work was primarily to identify the governmental, collegial, technological, and other factors contributing to the success of each country in achieving high levels (more than 90 per cent) of GP office automation in the last ten years. These success stories are informing health care reform efforts in Canada, specifically in the area of primary care.
