Places still available - CHIME graduate Health Informatics Programme (September 2006)
Thinking about doing a Graduate Programme in Health Informatics? Why not consider the CHIME programme at University College London which has been running since 1999. The programme is designed to meet the needs of professionals working both within the NHS and the private sector. There are still place available for the September 2006 intake.
10 research council studentships are available for students who start their studies in 2006. These will cover 50% of the cost of fees for students who register for an MSc.
The programme provides students with a detailed understanding of how information and communication technologies are used in healthcare and the challenges facing those who design and implement information systems. Graduates of the programme should be competent to play a number of roles in the scientific practice of medicine in a technologically advanced and information-rich society. They should be able to use sophisticated information technology and information management techniques to improve the quality and safety of care.
The programme is part-time and modular. Teaching is scheduled over 2-3 days per month and normally completed over two years, although students may take an extra year for their thesis.
