The next meeting of the Group will be held on Tuesday 20th June at the BCS in the Davidson Building, 5 Southampton Street., WC2E 7HA
It will start at 6.00 (Refreshments available from 5.30) and is open to all.Subject: How the armed forces are using Telemedicine
Speaker: Surgeon Captain Peter Buxton, OBE, who is currently working for Medical Director General (Naval) in the Medical Personnel and Policy area. He was appointed as the Defence Consultant Adviser in Radiology and Telemedicine to Surgeon General in 2002 and, as such, is responsible for all three Services. He is the UK representative on the NATO Telemedicine Working Group. He has published many academic papers on both radiology and telemedicine and is a recognised international expert in the application of telemedicine.
The discussion following the meeting could explore the possibilities for transferring this experience to the NHS for wider implementation.
In order to meet the BCS security requirements and to ensure that we order sufficient food, please email linda@... if you are planning to attend. (If you arrive later than 6.00 pm, you may need to ring the buzzer by the main door, make your way to the back entrance on Exeter Street and wait for whoever is working on BCS reception to come down to let you in.)
Further meetings of the Group:
There will be no August meeting in London but we are hoping to arrange an on-site visit. There may be some joint meetings with other Groups, including some not in London.
12th October will be the next evening meeting at Southampton Street
Please pass this notice on to colleagues who may be interested. The meeting is free and open to all
