Dear All,
HE institutions pride themselves of being research-led, and that their research is interdisciplinary and policy- and needs-driven ('in touch with the real world'). In fact, many of the tools, systems and 'methods of doing things' in practical use today are the direct product of successful (academic) research. Research can also uncover and diagnose real world problems, and effect change in policy and practice to resolve or mitigate those problems.
Please find below a link to download a PowerPoint providing an overview of Bath University School for Health research portfolio in Healthcare Informatics. The presentation covers most, but not everything that has been done here over the past two years, or that we are currently involved or about to get involved in:
An overview of the University of Bath School for Health research portfolio in Healthcare Informatics (Jun 03 – Mar 05; PowerPoint: 4.26 MB - right-click to save)
It is hoped this will stimulate other members of this forum to post similar showcases of research activities at their respective institutions, following and complementing our successful model of information exchange on Health Informatics education programmes in the latest UKHIT. There are obvious benefits in doing so, and I think UKHiS is an excellent forum for such exchanges.
Thank you for reading this.
Kind regards,
