POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN e-EPIDEMIOLOGY
KAROLINSKA INSTITUTET
Stockholm, Sweden
The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics has an opening
available immediately for a postdoctoral scientist interested in
multidisciplinary training in e-epidemiology. E-epidemiology is the
science underlying the acquisition, maintenance, retrieval and
application of epidemiological knowledge and information using digital
media such as the Internet, cell-phones, digital paper, digital TV and
biobanking. E-epidemiology also refers to the large-scale science
that will increasingly be conducted through distributed global
collaborations enabled by the Internet.
We are looking for a young, dedicated scholar, keen to integrate
knowledge in epidemiologic theory, modern information technology and
biobanking, and to pursue cutting edge research. The position is from 1-4
years.
Presently employing one hundred and sixty staff with nine full professors
and about forty graduate students, the department is one of the biggest
epidemiology units in Europe. Unique Swedish resources and prerequisites
- such as the Twin Register, several large prospective studies, ongoing
nationwide case-control studies, large nationwide databases including the
cancer register and in-patient discharge register, record linkage
capabilities and access to clinical data as well as biologic material -
are effectively explored at the department. Further information can be
found at

Please send a letter of application, the names and contact details of
three references and a short CV and brief statement of research goals to
Professor Jan-Eric Litton by e-mail
