City University's
School of Informatics undertakes world-class research in strategic areas that
include artificial intelligence, geographic information systems, human-computer
interaction, medical informatics, software and requirements engineering, and
systems dependability.
Research studentships
in the School of Informatics City University
The School is offering 11 full-time 3-year PhD
studentships to support ongoing research on specific topics
in these areas, to start in October 2004 and October 2005.

Candidates are expected
to have at least a 2.1 Honours Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
Conditional awards can be made if students have yet to receive their final
degree classification. Each successful applicant will receive a bursary of
£14,000 per annum for each year of the studentship. Studentships will start on
the 1st October 2004 and, depending on availability, 1st October 2005. More
