Hi,
Got your response today. I know how hard it can be
trying to find a doctor that will work with you.
Sounds like you may have found one. I would suggest
that you, or your doctor contact Dr. David Arneson in
Phoenix. His phone number is 602-234-1158. Tell him
that you got his name from me and I know he will be
happy to provide you with the info I have told you
about regaurding the I.V. Therapy. Good luck and
please keep me informed as to how you are doing.

Hi, I am glad I lived too. I did the iv's for awhile, but they were too
expensive for me, but I could not see a change in me. Right now, I am talking
four coral calicium each day, and the pain that I have had is less. The pain
that I have is hard at sometimes, but this seems to make a difference. I hope
it will help someone else. Let me know, as I have just started it. Thanks Eva

Dear Michael Brandon -
My name is Claire Lewis-Jones - I would be extremely interested in the
makeup of the IV solution you take. I have PPS also and there are no
doctors here that know what to do with me. I have one doctor that is
willing to try different modalities - and maybe this could help me - I
have an absorption problem which makes it virtually impossible for me to
absorb any pills I take. So maybe this could be the 'ticket' for me.
I thank you for any information you can forward to me to take to my
doctor.
Hoping you continue to feel better - My doctor is also both a medical and
Naturopathic doctor so he is open to 'other procedures'.
Thanking you and blessings you in advance for any help you can forward to
me.
Aloha, much peace, blessings and healing light

THANK YOU FOR YOUR LETTER
I have found tremendous help through the process of
I.V. Therapy. Basically what happens is I see a
naturopathic doctor here in Phoenix that has been
working with me for the past 9 months. He gives me a
250mg or 500 mg I.V bag (saline solution filled with
various vitamins, nutritional supplement such as amino
acids and minerals) By by-passing the gastrointestenal
tract the full benefits of the I.V. go directly into
my blood stream. I have found that my fatigue has all
but gone away, my depression is very manageable, and
my overall health and mobility has greatly increased.
The problem is that many states such as CA. do not
allow Naturopathic doctors to do this type of
treatment and conventional physicians are either
reluctant to try this type of treatment or make it so
cost prohibitive that it is not a viable treatment.
If you want more info, I can get the exact make-up of
the nutitional I.V. or I can put you in touch with my
doctor

keep going, most of the time. The pain is one thing, but the fatigue is the
worst. I do not know what to do but to lay down, even if it is for a few
minutes. It does help, but still it is hard knowing that my world is done in
the afternoon. I am on blood thinners, so I can't take most of the over the

Right now I am looking for something that will help me get through a day.
Please let me know what you are doing, or maybe we can talk a little to find out
"what we don't know." Thanks Eva

Stop the closure of
Ranch Los Amigos National Rehab Center, it has been the largest clinic for polio
rehab since the 1940's . . . . we need them!
"Sad news. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to
close Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center. Unless funding
can be found from somewhere Rancho will begin closing the doors, and
turning patients away, on June 30th.
Rancho has been treating people with polio and post-polio since the
1940s. It has one of the largest and most comprehensive polio clinics in
the nation. Where these people will go is unknown."

A BEAUTIFUL PRAYER
I asked God to take away my habit.
God said, No.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary
I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
Patience is a byproduct of tribulations;
it isn't granted, it is learned.
I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No.
I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares
and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
You must grow on your own! ,
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.
I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said...Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.
If you love God, send this to ten people and
back to the person that sent it,
THIS DAY IS YOURS DON'T THROW IT AWAY
May God Bless You,
"To the world you might be one person, but to one
person you just might be the world"

Last night I listened to the story of the Velveteen Rabbit on the radio. I
never read that one before, strangely enough. It fit . .. with lots of
love, we get tattered and torn and our joints get loose, but we always know
. . . we were well-loved!
Take care, dear friends, and don't be too hard on yourselves, our body has
worked hard for us for years, time to pamper it!
Love, Cheryl (on a fairly GOOD day!)
Just to let gentleman_pps and cheryl know that these words came at a time when I

Yes, gentleman_pps, I remember that quote well, from a Beatles' song, also.
"What is important, is that one be true to ones self, and those desires
within, those inner feelings, those passions that lay deep within."
A beautiful New Year's thought, thanks for the reminder, seems like I've

sometimes . . . no struggle at all.

God's network is amazing....let's use it to prevent the negative impact
that can happen if we all wait for someone else to take a stand for us...for
what WE believe....please forward this to all of the people you know right
now...so we don't lose any more freedoms than we have.
If we can see Vanity fair ads for bras and panties on the TV...why not the
Christian message of love and hope!
Subject: Taking a Stand - a must read..
CBS will be forced to discontinue "Touched by an Angel" for using the
word God in every program.
It does not matter if you like the show or not. What does matter is that
America was built on "God We Trust" and the freedom to practice any religion we
choose. Madeline Murray O'Hare,an atheist, successfully managed to eliminate
the use of Bible reading from public schools a few years ago. Now her
organization has been granted a Federal Hearing on the same subject by the
Federal Communications Commission would ultimately pave the way to stop the
reading of the gospel our Lord and Savior, on the airwaves of America.
They got 287,000 signatures to back their stand! If this attempt is
successful, all Sunday worship services being broadcast on the radio or by
television will be stopped.
This group is also campaigning to remove all Christmas programs and
Christmas carols from public schools!! Can't these people just not watch these
shows that we, as Christians, hold so dearly to our memories and hearts?!
You as a Christian can help! We are praying for at least 1 million
signatures. This would defeat their effort and show that there are many
Christians alive, well and concerned about our country.
As Christians, we must unite on this. Please don't take this lightly. We
ignored this woman once and lost prayer in our schools and in offices across the
nation.
Please stand up for your religious freedom and let your voice be heard.
Together we can make a difference in our country. Please press "forward"
and forward this to everyone on your list.
Now, please type your name at the bottom (you can only add your name after
you have pressed the "Forward")
Make sure that it shows up when you get ready to forward it to other
people.
Please do not sign jointly, such as Mr.& Mrs. Each person should type
his/her own name.
Please e-mail this to everyone you know, and help us defeat this
organization and keep the right of our freedom of religion.

The chicken's habitat on the original side of the road had been polluted
by unchecked industrialist greed. The chicken did not reach the unspoiled
habitat on the other side of the road because it was crushed by the wheels
of a gas-guzzling SUV.
PAT BUCHANAN
To steal a job from a decent, hard-working American.
RUSH LIMBAUGH
I don't know why the chicken crossed the road, but I'll bet it was getting
a government grant to cross the road, and I'll bet someone out there is
already forming a support group to help chickens with crossing-the-road
syndrome.
Can you believe this? How much more of this can real Americans take?
Chickens crossing the road paid for by their tax dollars, and when I say
ax dollars, I'm talking about your money, money the government took
from you to build roads for chickens to cross.
MARTHA STEWART
No one called to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a
standing order at the farmer's market to sell my eggs when the price
dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.
JERRY FALWELL
Because the chicken was gay! Isn't it obvious? Can't you people see the
plain truth in front of your face? The chicken was going to the "other
side.
That's what they call it - the other side. Yes, my friends, that chicken is
gay.
And, if you eat that chicken, you will become gay too. I say we boycott
all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media
white washes with seemingly harmless phrases like "the other side."
DR. SEUSS
Did the chicken cross the road?
Did he cross it with a toad?
Yes! The chicken crossed the road,
But why it crossed, I've not been told!
ERNEST HEMINGWAY
To die. In the rain. Alone.
MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads
without having their motives called into question.
GRANDPA
In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told
us that the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough for us.
BARBARA WALTERS
Isn't that interesting? In a few moments we will be listening to the
chicken tell, for the first time, the heart-warming story of how it had a
serious case of molting and went on to accomplish its life-long dream
of crossing the road.
JOHN LENNON
Imagine all the chickens crossing roads in peace.
ARISTOTLE
It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.
SADDAM HUSSEIN
This was an unprovoked act of rebellion and we were quite justified in
dropping 50 tons of nerve gas down the throat of the imperialist infidel.
VOLTAIRE
I may not agree with what the chicken did, but I will defend to the death
its right to do it.
RONALD REAGAN
What chicken?
CAPTAIN KIRK
To boldly go where no chicken has gone before.
SIGMUND FREUD
The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road
reveals your underlying sexual insecurity.
BILL GATES
I have just released eChicken 2003, which will not only cross roads, but
will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your
checkbook... and Internet Explorer is an inextricable part of eChicken.
ALBERT EINSTEIN
Did the chicken really cross the road or did the road move beneath the
chicken?
BILL CLINTON
I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What do you mean by chicken?
Could you define chicken please?
THE BIBLE
And God came down from the heavens, and He said unto the chicken, Thou
shalt cross the road." And the chicken crossed the road, and there was
much rejoicing.
COLONEL SANDERS
I missed one?
My Quilt ..........
As I faced my Maker at the last judgment, I knelt before the Lord along with
all the other souls.
Before each of us laid our lives like the squares of a quilt in many piles.
An Angel sat before each of us sewing our quilt squares together into a
tapestry that is our life.
But as my angel took each piece of cloth off the pile, I noticed how ragged
and empty each of my squares was. They were filled with giant holes. Each
square was labeled with a part of my life that had been difficult, the
challenges and temptations I was faced with in everyday life. I saw hardships
that I endured, which were the largest holes of all.
I glanced around me. Nobody else had such squares. Other than a tiny hole
here and there, the other tapestries were filled with rich color and the
bright hues of worldly fortune. I gazed upon my own life and was disheartened.
My angel was sewing the ragged pieces of cloth together, threadbare and
empty, like binding air.
Finally the time came when each life was to be displayed, held up to the
light, the scrutiny of truth.
The others rose, each in turn, holding up their tapestries. So filled their
lives had been. My angel looked upon me, and nodded for me to rise.
My gaze dropped to the ground in shame. I hadn't had all the earthly
fortunes. I had love in my life, and laughter. But there had also been trials
of illness, and death, and false accusations that took from me my world, as I
knew it. I had to start over many times. I often struggled with the
temptation to quit, only to somehow muster the strength to pick up and begin
again. I spent many nights on my knees in prayer, asking for help and
guidance in my life. I had often been held up to ridicule, which I endured
painfully, each time offering it up to the Father in hopes that I would not
melt within my skin beneath the judgmental gaze of those who unfairly judged
me.
And now, I had to face the truth. My life was what it was, and I had to
accept it for what it was.
I rose and slowly lifted the combined squares of my life to the light. An
awe-filled gasp filled the air. I gazed around at the others who stared at me
with wide eyes.
Then, I looked upon the tapestry before me. Light flooded the many holes,
creating an image, the face of Christ. Then our Lord stood before me, with
warmth and love in His eyes. He said, "Every time you gave over your life to
Me, it became My life, My hardships, and My struggles. Each point of light in
your life is when you stepped aside and let Me shine through, until there was
more of Me than there was of you."
May all our quilts be threadbare and worn, allowing Christ to shine through.
Please share this with someone you love, care about or even someone who needs
Jesus in their heart. They may scoff, but at least the seed has been planted,
and God will do the rest.
May God bless you today and Forever. >>

Just to introduce myself I'm Judy and live in Louisiana. I had polio
when I was 5 am now 55 and dealing with breathing problems, being
tired, weakness in my arms is so bad sometimes it's hard to hold a
newspaper very long. I wake up with headaches... I can walk just have
to rest every once in a while...my legs hurt so. I would love to chat
and see this group grow. Here are some links I have come across.

Now maybe this will seem silly to you...............but..........this would not
work for a christmas gift, but it is something that brought great comfort to my
mother who was very sore until she died a the age of 91. She had a lot of back
pain and leg pain. We filled tube socks with rice and tied them in a knot and
put them in the microwave for at least 1 minute. These would conform to all
areas where the pain was and would hold heat for several hours. Mom swore by
them and I still use them. When they get dirty you dump the rice, wash the
socks, and put clean rice in. Minute rice seems to work best. Maybe it is
because it is lighter. We got this idea from some we were buying for 11 dollars
a piece. I cut an old dirty one open one day before throwing it away and low
and behold it was rice, so for less than a dollar apiece, now we can have as
many as we want. Don't fill tightly, leave enough room so that they can form to
the body part. Hope this helps to comfort him, doesn't help as far as a
christmas gift tho ;o)))

I know this is going to sound kind of ridiculous, because how do you
gift wrap a pain free day with enough rest... but...
My father is a Polio survivor. Thanks to God, he doesn't have any
physical evidence of the disease except some pretty major stretch
marks. He had Polio from 1949 - 1953 and was in an iron lung that
whole time until one day, during a Sister Kenny treatment, he said
"ow" and everyone freaked out. The disease disappeared as quickly as
it had taken him, though he needed to re-learn to walk, swallow, and
such. In any event, here he is, 61 years old, and PPS has sneaked up
on him over the last few years. He is a first-time grandpa to my 7
month old daughter, and I see it killing him that he doesn't always
have the strength to hold her or play with her, or bend down. He's
terribly fatigued, and the restlessness and pain is awful for him, too.
I am starting to think about xmas gifts for him. I am wondering if
anyone has found something that soothes them - even a little - and
helps them get through the day. I have already gotten him the
slippers with the microwavable inserts to warm his feet. He walks
okay, if slowly. I know that his back hurts him a lot. Is there
anything you can think of?
I appreciate any and all suggestions. All the best to everyone, and
thank you, BlueRoller, for having this place.
Have not been diagnosed with the pps syndrome but reading and studying into it
has made me very susupicious.
I did start and regimin of chiropractic treatment and am making progress in less
than 3 weeks time.
Nice to hear from others. I have had doctors say that it could be pps syndrom
but they won't say one way or another.

keep emailing is ok to! Did you see the Sunday Morning show about the tree
climbing people? The girl on there had polio. I emailed her but she is on
