Hey, Druid (interesting name)--thanks for
responding...as with all pps people we meet, so sorry you are
having to go through all this, too. Also for your
wife...ironically, my husband's nephew is starting college this year
for forensic psychiatry or something like that -- to
deal with people like serial killers, etc. -- sounds
pretty morbid and scary to me, but 'different strokes',
I guess. We, too, bought a little place up in
Northern Michigan on five acres intending to retire
here...too much for us to take care of now and also too
cold. Maybe we'll settle in Florida -- if the warmer
weather with humidity doesn't help, we'll most likely
head for drier air in Arizona. Maybe nothing will make
a difference...who knows? I'm not a professional
anything, but am a 'Jill of all trades'. As long as there
is a job out there, I can usually work. We'll be
moving south in a few weeks so I'll be off-line for a
while and I will be back when we get settled somewhere.
We're just packing up a U-Haul and we'll stop where we
land. This is all very hard on him...having to lean on
me for our support...I can sympathize with how he
feels but don't know how to help him get through it
all. I try to be patient and supportive but sometimes
I just don't have the strength, either. He is
thankful that he can still walk and take care of the
laundry and dishes and is even learning to cook. I look
at that as a great blessing because I do work hard
and anything he is able to do helps. How does
everyone else cope with the changes?
