Discussion group run by the Birth Centre Network UK for midwives, campaigners, parents and anyone who wants to contribute to furthering the group's aim or who is looking for support and information.

The aims and objectives of Birth Centre Network UK are as follows:

AIM: To ensure that modern maternity care includes the provision of birth centres as a real choice for women.

OBJECTIVES: Through a dynamic and effective network to:

1 Collect, distribute and publish articles, reports and other resources relevant to the birth centre movement. These are to be mulitdisciplinary in origin and to include clinical, economic, social, management and personnel issues.
2 Support existing and potential birth centres by means of information, advice and networking.
3 Act as a voice for the birth centre movement at various level from local community through NHS management to national policy makers. Liaise with other relevant groups and organisations.
4 Provide impartial, accessible advice about birth centres to women considering their options for childbirth.
