Does anyone have a recommendation for a truly accurate audio interface?

Currently I am using the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook
express card to take audio files.

I spoke with Dan this week and he likes the Sony PCM D50 which is a 24
bit 96K unit with a freq resp of 20 Hz to 20 kHz.

Bill likes the Edirol series, they make the R-09HR which is a 24 bit
96K unit with a freq resp of 20 Hz–40 kHz (±2 dB)

Currently I am working with manufacturers to have a device just for
this application.
