You may get a Sony TD7 or TD8 off Ebay quite reasonable. They are excellent
for recording
situational sounds. They are DAT recorders

Does anyone has experience with a portable hand-held recorder of good
quality, to record digitally (wav files), to record noises/voices in the
street?
Any recommendations?
Peace
Marcelo

I use a portable DAT recorder. Then SPIF digitally or via analog outs to my
DAW audio program of choice. I use a stereo mic with windscreens. I have
even used a simple Radio Shack mini cassette to do the same then used the
headphone out. Only in a pinch though. Marantz does make a portable CD-R
recorder for filed recording. Haven't used that yet. Hope this helps!
Be well,
Jon
