Re: the rods of Ra - very interesting - I had read of these years ago on an abscure website.  I noted that these appeared to be what the Egyptian figures were often holding in the statutes and paintings or art work taken from the pyramids and tombs of Egypt on display at the Vatican museum in Rome.
