I agree with most of the posts in the story and with David.  We do have Drivers who go too fast and/or do not pay much attention on these streets, and we do have bicyclists that do the wrong thing (though with the initial report of helmet, lights and no mention of headphones I do not think this person was not following the rules).   Unfortunately the Bicyclist suffers in both situations.  My sympathy to this man's family.

I think the best thing for this is to get more bikes on the road, though stories like this don't help the cause.
