If with bike trail you mean a Class 2 (that is an
off-road, multi-use trail), then I am not aware of
anything.
If you do want to avoid the major roads (such as Cirby
and Douglas), I'd suggest doing something like this:

It is longer (5.5 miles), but a good part of the route
is residential streets.
The idea of taking sounds great!
