Dear fellow riders,
if you'd like to see biking improved in Roseville, you just hit the
jack pot! The City is updating its Bike Master Plan and your input can
make your day and help make a difference in the Community!
We as bikingroseville have one spot on the committee so anything you'd
like to see improved we can bring up.
Conveniently enough the update process is kicked off with a bike ride
on Sept 12 (see details below). This is a good way of discovering some
routes and meet some of the people involved both from the City and the
Community.
The current Bike Master Plan can be found here:
http://www.roseville.ca.us/civica/filebank/blobdload.asp?BlobID=3271
And below is the email from Mike Dour that talks in more detail about
the ride on September 12. I really hope as many of you as possible can
make it to the Civic Center at 5:30pm that day as a strong showing of
bikingroseville will demonstrate that we are a strong group.
Thanks!
bjorn
Here is the announcement - the route is uploaded under the files section:

Hello Bicycle Master Plan Update Steering Committee,
This email is intended to kick off the BMP update process. We are
please to announce that the City Council selected Fehr & Peers as the
consultant for the project. Fehr & Peers has extensive background in
bicycle
planning, and they prepared the City's 1994 Bicycle Master Plan. Fehr &
Peers will be coordinating the BMP Update, and as committee members you
will hear from them from time to time. The primary contacts from Fehr &
Peers are Rich Ledbetter and Brad Lane.
The first activity for the BMP Update will be a BIKE TOUR OF
ROSEVILLE . The tour is scheduled on Tuesday September 12, 2006 from
5:30 p.m.
to 7:30 p.m., at the Civic Center, 311 Vernon Street. You are all
strongly encouraged to attend because this is an opportunity to see
firsthand what bicylists in Roseville experience as they ride on the
City's
streets and trails. There will be opportunities to discuss the City's
facilities along the way. The tour will be led by an instructor certified
by the League of American Bicyclists and will be about 8 to 10 miles of
riding done at an easy pace. Helmets are required, and a waiver form
must be signed. The bike tour is open to the public and will be announced
via press release, etc. For those of you that represent larger groups
such as Biking Roseville, Sun City Cycling, RCONA, etc., please pass
this email on to your membership. The attached map shows the preliminary
route. Please RSVP at transportation@... or 774-5293.
> Fehr & Peers will follow the bike tour with a public survey. This
process may also include interviews with some of you to get your
impressions of Roseville bikeways.
>
> I will provide more information as the BMP Update continues. Thanks
so much for your participation in the Bicycle Master Plan Update.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Mike
