My commuter bike is much heavier (steel frame) with wider tires than
my recreational bike (Trek carbon fibre). Thanks for the tire
information, that's what I'm looking for. I too got a 4 inch peice
of wire stuck into my tire - I thought it was just a rock at first,
but it kept whacking the frame! I rode all the way home with it
sticking out of the tire. It went all the way into the rim and was
stuck in the rim tape. I've seen some very strange things in the
bike lane on my commute to work. There's another thread for the
list, "things you have collected on your way to work" :-)

I'll check into those tire.
