Hi Losers!!

Just wanted to let you know that we are only 1 week away from Big
Bear's Biggest Loser Summer Boot Camp starting.

This session is new and improved from the first session, with TWO
weekly workouts, an updated and more comprehensive Biggest Loser
Guide book, one short nutrition talk prior to workout and a NEW
SCALE!!

The classes are Tuesday's and Thursday's from 5:30-6:45pm, outside at
Meadow Park at Swim Beach. The cost is $120 for 9 weeks, that is only
$5.00 per class after $30 goes to admin costs- (guide book,
insurance, t-shirt, etc.)

You guys asked for more workouts, less meeting time, and a shorter
session length. Well, we listened and you got it!

More information is on our website at www.PowerMyHealth.com

Classes begin next Tuesday, June 3rd and go until July 31st. That
means you have one more week to register at the Rec and Park District
Office. So if have been thinking about joining, but haven't done it
yet, get on over there and commit to continuing on your quest to be
happier and healthier!

Questions??? Call us at 909-910-1810

Hi Losers

Well we are finally ready to annouce Biggest Bear's Biggest Loser #2.
We will be having an informational meeting NEXT Wednesday, May 7 at
5:30pm at BBV Rec and Park Dept meeting room.

The BIG question that you have been asking since we ended in March is
whether you guys will be able to join again! Well here is the scoop.
We are going to open registration up at the meeting on May 7th to NEW
participants. Past participants will be allowed to sign onto the
Waiting List for entry if there are spots remaining after 2 weeks of
OPEN registration. So on May 21, if there are openings still
available at that time you will be able to join in the order that you
are on the waiting list. Make sense?

We are doing this so that we can help as many people as possible in
the valley get healthier and since we know that you guys have the
information we wanted to make sure others had the opportunity that
you guys did.

What will be new...well we would like you to come to the meeting to
find out all the details, but as a sneak preview:

Dates: June 3- July 31 (9 weeks)

Classes: Tues and Thurs 5:30pm

Format: MORE workouts: 2 x week (just like you guys asked for!)

Location: New, fun, exciting location outdoors!

What else: come find out about a new twist "The Black Team"

Hope to see you there if you are interested!!

Pass this information on to your friends, family and co-workers who
you think would want to know about the program!

Sat- 9am- First of the Seven Summits (Bertha Peak hike will take place). Get signed up as a member of active big bear at www.bigearoutdooractivities.com for more information.

Mon- Big Bear’s Biggest Loser Finale- We will be celebrating your achievement through the program with a healthy potluck party. So come and bring your favorite HEALTHY dish or snack for everyone to share and try-out. Great way to try some healthy food you might not otherwise, as well as get some good ideas and recipes to continue on your healthy path. We will be having our FINAL Weigh in and giving away the grand prize on Monday night!

Any questions, let us know!

Hi everyone,

On Monday, Pam Swanson is going to join us. We’ll actually have a shorter class, break for a couple minutes for discussion and questions, and then she’ll present afterwards and you can stay if you’re interested. I’ve always appreciated her work with pain treatment, so I invited her to come and speak. If you have pain in any area of your body and have been searching for answers, she uses a modality to treat pain that may be able to help you.

Here’s a brief intro she sent:

================================

Pamela Swanson is certified in the application of Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT) developed by BioFlex. Swanson specializes in applying LILT for treatment of a variety of different medical conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, chronic and degenerative conditions and wounds.  LILT is utilized to eliminate pain, obviate the need for medications, restore normal range of motion, and improve the overall quality of life.  LILT is non-toxic, non-invasive, and non-destructive and does not have any side effects.  The BioFlex system is a highly sophisticated therapeutic modality that combines the benefits of red and infrared light to restore normal cell function and enhance the body's healing processes.

LILT has been used around the world for the past 30 years and has full FDA approval.  Pamela Swanson has been working in Big Bear City with Dr. Evers, a chiropractor since October of 2006.

With the tragic incident of Kelsey Smith from Overland Park KS; these are some tips that might refresh your mind on what to do if you ever encounter this type of situation.
For those of you unfamiliar with Kelsey Smith, she was a 17 year old abducted from a Target parking lot in Overland Park KS in broad daylight.  Her body was located in Missouri several days later.  Her abductor was caught on surveillance cameras follow Kelsey into Target, leaving moments before her.  Her abduction was also, but not clearly, on tape.  When Kelsey did not arrive where she was supposed to be Saturday, searchers started looking for her.  They were finally able to track her movements via her cell phone "pinging" cell towers.  They found her body in a wooded area in Missouri .  The surveillance photos provided a good picture of the "person of interest" and that was posted all over TV and Internet.  The man, a 27 year old with a wife and child, was arrested and faces charges of kidnapping and 1 st degree murder.  The articles I've read indicate that he will be charged in Federal Courts because he crossed state lines from Kansas to Missouri and that he could face the death penalty.

Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this.  It may save your life or loved one's life.

Crucial
Because of recent abductions
in daylight hours, refresh yourself
of these things to do
in an emergency situation...
This is for you,
and for you to share
with your wife,
your children,
everyone you know.
After reading these 9 crucial tips ,
forward them to someone you care about.
It never hurts to be careful
in this crazy world we live in.

1
Tip from Tae Kwon Do :
The elbow
is the strongest point
on your body.
If you are close enough to use it,
do!

2.
Learned this from a tourist guide
in New Orleans
If a robber asks
for your wallet and/or purse,
DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM
Toss it away from you....
chances are
that he is more interested
in your wallet and/or purse
than you,
and he will go
for the wallet/purse.
RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3.
If you are ever thrown
into the trunk of a car,
kick out the back tail lights
and stick your arm out the hole
and start waving like crazy.
The driver won't see you,
but everybody else will.
This has saved lives.

4.
Women have a tendency
to get into their cars after shopping,
eating, working, etc.,
and just sit (doing their checkbook,
or making a list, etc.
DON'T DO THIS!)
The predator
will be watching you,
and this is the perfect opportunity
for him to get in
on the passenger side,
put a gun to your head,
and tell you where to go.
AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR ,
LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.

a. If someone

is in the car
with a gun
to your head
DO NOT DRIVE OFF,
repeat:
DO NOT DRIVE OFF!
Instead gun the engine
and speed into anything,
wrecking the car.
Your Air Bag will save you.
If the person is
in the back seat
they will get the worst of it .
As soon as the car crashes
bail out and run.
It is better than having them
find your body
in a remote location.

5
A few notes about getting
into your car in a parking lot,
or parking garage:
A.) Be aware:
look around you,
look into your car,
at the passenger side floor ,
and in the back seat
B..) If you are parked next to a big van,
enter your car from the passenger door .
Most serial killers attack their victims
by pulling them into their vans
while the women are attempting
to get into their cars.
C..) Look at the car
parked on the driver's side
of your vehicle,
and the passenger side.
If a male is sitting alone
in the seat nearest your car,
you may want to walk back
into the mall, or work,
and get a guard/policeman
to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6.
ALWAYS
take the elevator
instead of the stairs.
(Stairwells are horrible places
to be alone
and the perfect crime spot.
This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7.
If the predator has a gun
and you are not under his control,
ALWAYS RUN!
The predator will only hit you
(a running target)
4 in 100 times;
And even then,
it most likely
WILL NOT
be a vital organ.
RUN,
Preferably !
in a zig -zag pattern!

8.
As women,
we are always trying
to be sympathetic:
STOP !
It may get you raped,
or killed.
Ted Bundy,
the serial killer,
was a good-looking,
well educated man,
who ALWAYS played
on the sympathies
of unsuspecting women.
He walked with a cane,
or a limp,
and often asked
"for help"
into his vehicle
or with his vehicle,
which is when he abducted
his next victim.

************* Here it is *******
9. Another Safety Point:
Someone just told me
that her friend heard
a crying baby on her porch
the night before last,
and she called the police
because it was late
and she thought it was weird.
The police told her
"Whatever you do,
DO NOT
open the door."
The lady
then said that
it sounded like the baby
had crawled near a window,
and she was worried
that it would crawl
to the street
and get run over.
The policeman said,
"We already have a unit on the way,
whatever you do,
DO NOT open the door."
He told her that they think
a serial killer
has a baby's cry recorded
and uses it to coax
women out of their homes
thinking that someone
dropped off a baby
He said they have not verified it,
but have had several calls
by women saying that
they hear baby's cries
outside their doors
when they're home alone
at night.

Please pass this on and

DO NOT
open the door
for a crying baby ----
This
e-mail should probably
be taken seriously because
the Crying Baby theory
was mentioned on
America 's Most Wanted
this past Saturday
when they profiled
the serial killer in Louisiana

I'd like you

to forward this
to all the women you know.
It may save a life.
A candle is not dimmed
by lighting another candle.
I was going to send this to the ladies only,
but guys,
if you love your mothers,
wives,
sisters,
daughters, etc.,
you may want to
pass it onto them, as well.

Send this

to any woman you know
that may need
to be reminded
that the world we live in
has a lot of crazies in it
and it's better to be safe
than sorry.
Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this.  It may save your life or a loved one's life.

Thought this was funny, had to share with you!

THE NEXT SURVIVOR SERIES
Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and 3 kids each for six weeks. Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes.

There is no fast food. Each man must take care of his 3 kids; keep his assigned house clean, correct all homework, and complete science projects, cook, do laundry, and pay a list of 'pretend' bills with not enough money.

In addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each week. Each man must remember the birthdays of all their friends and relatives, and send cards out on time. Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment, a dentist appointment and a haircut appointment.

He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit per child to the Urgent Care. He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function. Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned house, planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times.

The men will only have access to television when the kids are asleep and all chores are done. The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily, adorn himself with jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep fingernails polished and eyebrows groomed. During one of the six weeks, the men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or slow down from other duties.

They must attend weekly school meetings, church, and find time at least once to spend the afternoon at the park or a similar setting. They will need to read a book and then pray with the children each night and in the morning, feed them, dress them, brush their teeth and comb their hair by 7:00 am.

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all  of the following information: each child's birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size and doctor's name Also the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of labor, each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack, favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear and what they want to be when they grow up.

The kids vote them off the island based on performance. The last man wins only if...he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse at a moment's notice.

If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over again for the next 18-25 years eventually earning the right to be called Mother!

After you get done laughing, send this to as many females as you think will get a kick out of it and as many men as you think can handle it. Just don't send it back to me.... I'm going to bed!  Ha ha!
