I am a new group member and as yet only self-diagnosed (gross tests
for claudication and heart function, treadmills, all normal; normal
chest X-ray; no blockage in major veins or arteries, ankle-brachial
(wrist) pulse normal, normal blood work:
Started with coldness that feels like frostbite, first in
toes, feet, legs, hands, arms - no color change
Numbness, first in toes, then arches of the feet, then
fingers... not painful.
Little electrical tingles (also not painful) all over,
without any real cause
Parts falling asleep very quickly - pins & needles - if arm
or leg upstream is crossed or something puts pressure on the nerve
(leaning on a table, sitting on a hard chair)
My only pain is in the ball of the right foot if I walk or go
up the stairs barefoot.
Are these symptoms that you have had?
Smoked two packs a day of menthols for 30+ years but quit
successfully three weeks ago - two weeks on the nicotine patch, and
now one week without it.
If I stay off cigarettes will the disease progress to amputations,
etc.?
Thanks for being there, everyone. And no, I never heard of this
before I found it on the Web.
Good luck, all -
Lars
