I have had Buergers disease since 1967. I returned home from in-
country and developed gangrene in both hands and feet. I've had total
of 8 toes and tip of the right index finger amputated.

The USAF retired me @ age 21 and I was unable to work for 5 years.
Returned to work and worked 28 years. In 1999, developed problems
with my left foot and placed on short term/lond term disability.
Applied for SSDI and after 3 tries and the assistance of insurance
appointed lawyer, received disability November 2002.

You must have the support of your doctors to state the disease as it
effects you. This process is sometimes long but you must appeal,
appeal and appeal. Never give up or give in. Be totally honest but
firm in your request for disability insurance. After all, you have
already paid fot it! No one is giving you anything.
