Marnix, your English is fine. I was diagnosed with
Buergers disease after returning home from Vietnam in
1967 with gangrene in both feet and hands. I continued
to smoke until about 1973 and by God's grace,as I know
Him, able to quit.
I have only met one Army Vet with Buergers disease in
the past 35 years.
Developed "jungle rot", gangrene and have had total of
8 toes amputated. The problem is once a toe or finger
is diseased, it is almost impossible for it to heal
and often the is so damaged from surgery it will have
to be removed.
I agree with you that smoking is a factor in this
illness.
