Re: [Beurgers Disease] help

Hi, I too was diagnosed at a young age, I was 27. From
experience, quitting smoking is the only relief from the symptoms
although I don't think it ever goes away, and neither does the urge
to continue smoking. I too had blockages in my legs and in 1989 and
1990, I underwent bypass surgeries in my right leg. After an
extensive healing process, I did well and refrained from smoking for
the most part, in excess of 10 years. And now, after some personal
problems, I resumed the old habit and my symptoms have returned.
Once again my toes (right and left this time) are turning lovely
shades of red, purple and black, are splitting at the tips and are
causing extreme pain. Yet I still find myself smoking. I don't mean
to sound discouraging, but the prognosis can only be based upon our
own will power, and in that department, I feel like a failure.
