I would just put whatever Neem is recommended orally in the bag. I've never used
it myslef but that is usually the safest way to go with something new.
Natasha had a yogurt business in Europe. She now sells probiotics under the name
"Natren." I've bought them at the HFS but you can order online too. She has a
great book Probiotics Natures Healers which I found helpful and nformative.

My son had this too. Things got better when we upped his good fats...cod liver
oil, flax, etc. His diet is also extremely limited, so that probably played into
it too. His ketones dropped from the good fats and went away completely when we
introduced a limited amount of fruit back into his diet.

They have keto sticks available at drug stores in the pharmacy and you can keep
track of your levels if you are worried. A little may not be a problem, but you
don't want it to stay at a high level.....Do an archives search as I posted on
this when my son's levels are high and I know Jennifer Boddie posted a great
article....

   Hi,
I had a urinalysis 4 weeks into the diet and the ketones in my urine is high.
Did anyone else experience this ? I read it's due to fat being burned rather
than glucose which would make sense since I've gone to BED and cut out sugar.

Dear Lisa,

Do you know what blood type he is? There are kits,
$20, on the internet if you do not.

Blood type would tell you what kind of response would
be appropriate when he ask for food. If he is a blood
type O I would send him outdoors for a heavy romp, if
he is blood type A something soothing and meditative
to calm him down so he doesn't want to eat.

There are books out there.

you are right christina. a strict stage 1 diet would not include pineapple,
blueberries or the others you mentioned. Lemon and Lime and some green apple
only on strict Stage1

You know...of course pineapple is not in the 9th edition book yet I
BELIEVE that Donna has approved pineapple, kiwi, green apples,
blueberries as 'legal' on BED as long as YCK is taken along with them??

IF this is correct, then personally, I think it's because the acid
fruits (cranberry, lemon, etc) is so hard for most to stick by and IF
one is doing the diet, drinking lots of YCK, eating CVs, and doing
food combining, that an occasional green apple, kiwi, pineapple, etc
could be offset by the YCK.

I KNOW that I have read some CBEs post that pineapple, green apples
and such are OK however, I cannot confirm if it's more for the
transitional phase and phase II?

I know when I'm eating really well on BED, I do enjoy some blueberries
and green apples at times but for me, I think they are trigger foods.
If I eat some pineapple, I want more. Sometimes with a green apple.
Blueberries I'm OK with although my 3 yr old LOVES wild blueberries.
But then I have really bad yeast issues still so that may be why.

I think if you were going 100% TRUE strict BED, then it would be best
to stick to the acid fruits (lemon, lime, etc).

Can anyone validate or dispute this for me please? Can you confirm if
subacid fruits ARE BED legal stage 1 (I'm thinking NO for strict BED)
or if they are transitional only?? Thanks! Christina

Julie,

Most of them use the ball jars. I use to see them in Walmart during canning
season. If u don't get them any glass jar will do. Avoid plastic. No, I don't
sterilize them. After they come out of the dishwasher I do pour hot baking soda
water and swirl them once. I have heard that just washing them in the
dishwasher is good enough..

That is hard to answer Julie. Depends on how and when they were shipped and all
other details. Have u kept the whole coconut in the refrigerator??? In winter I
am able to keep the coconuts in my van (since its keeps them real cold and I do
not have an extra refrigerator) and still use that after 2- 3 days. Usually I
get them and crack them open within a day. I still suggest that u crack them
open and freeze the water and the spoonmeat.

I hope u will get more responses from others for this question.

Also, you have to be REALLY careful of the Asian brand of nori and
sea weed...MOST of them will contain some MSG, even sugar and such
in them for the flavoring. While it's delicious, it's not good for
you...

If you do have plain nori, you can place a sheet over a hot stove
burner, briefly warm it up like a tortilla (turning it over)...since
it's so thin, it takes a second or two then while it's hot, sprinkle
with celtic sea salt. Powdered red pepper is yummy on it too but
don't give it to your kids! :-)

I like mine wrapped around quinoa or millet fried rice. Christina

I can never recall the name since I never focus on drinking the juice
in it...St. Cruz? Anyway, there is this brand in the organic juice
sections...usually next to the Knudson juices in 1qt glass bottles
with a metal screw on top. Their lemonade and raspberry lemonade
generally go on sale for $1.00 a bottle. Since my husband sticks to
his SAD diet, I buy these when they are on sale, have him drink the
lemonade and use the bottles for YCK. It's great because it's exactly
1qt. If you can't find those, the 100% cranberry, pomegrante glass
bottles are the same and you CAN drink those! :-) Christina

Blastocystis is neither yeast nor a protozoan. It is placed in a new Kingdom
known as the Stramenopiles. Other Stramenopiles include brown algae, mildew,
diatoms, the organism that caused the Irish potato famine, and the organism
responsible for Sudden oak death disease.

I think the most important thing may be to build up my immune system, and that
is what BED is for! :-)

OK, please don't make the mistake I did with the Nori. I read about it as a
"snack" on an article.... and I bought it at my health food store. I
thought wow, I can just take this to work and if I get hungry after lunch use it
for a snack.... Oh NO! I have not been so sick!!!

I love sushi but oh my goodness!!!!! NEVER again! You have to use it as a
wrap, I guess. This didn't have any directions on it as it is foreign.

Blessings,
Dee

Lisa,

most fries that you buy have gluten in them. flour of one sort or another on
the outside as a coating and they are not red potatoes. you sure can make your
own fries out of red potatoes and coconut oil. lots of us do!

keep it up. you will get there!

Sangeetha,
thank you for your answer. I still haven't opened the coconut, how

My family LOVES this now and yes, it's BED legal. Just don't combine
it with a protein or other starchy veggie.

Cut red potatoes in french fry sizes. Fry in organic, unfiltered
coconut oil. Sprinkle w/ Celtic Sea salt and enjoy! Christina

HI,
Do you happen to have the BED book ? There are 3 recipes for ocean veg in
there. I bought ocean veg in the summer and had no clue what to do with them.
I got the book 2 weeks ago and am FINALLY using the ocean veg.

           Hi Everyone,
First thank you for the encouragement, but please don't get the idea
I'm a pitty party mom unable to handle all this LOL! I wouldn't be
here if I was the type of person to sit back and let things happen by
themselves. I can feel that this is the diet Kyle needs but I have
put off doing it for over a year bc it is so complicated. God
promises not to give us more than we can handle, and some days I
wonder if he doesn't have me confused with someone else :-) but we do
just fine - everyday.
We are so much further along in this diet than many newcomers bc we
have been doing Sunrider and GFCF soy free for 3 years and are very
healthy and eat well. Kyle is able to tolerate many more foods than
he could 2 years ago.
I'm not confused about any one of the principles in BED (in fact
sunrider teaches the 80/20 acid ash eating and I've found some
benefit from the blood type diet this past year) it's just that doing
them all together is overwhelming and I haven't gotten to the point
where I can even visualize a whole BED meal for my family.
Ocean Vegetables - I am COMPLETELY ignorant about these. I have no
idea where to buy them, what they taste like, what parts of them you
eat and how to prepare them!
Thank you :-)

healthy ones.Someday, he will be adorned with healthy nourished cells
if I keep this going and he will have recovered. I visualize that
each time when doubts set in.
I could use some replacement ideas for ketchup and easy snacks to put
in his backpack for church and after therapy sessions. Right now we
pack potato or corn chips and envirokids rice bars

to get a 3 year old kid to get into this diet than a 6 year

confusing u. I will be able to guide u.
>

going thro a little detox urself. Remember we need to align our BODY

You need to find ways to cleanse, detox and nourish ur MIND and
SPIRIT. I do that when my kids are away at school or when they are
asleep through reading books that teach me how to SELF SOOTHE myself.
We know we are put in a tough situation where u feel that we have
more on our plate than we can handle. And somehow we are among other
people where everything seems to be okay inspite of all the junk food
other kids are eating. We see the contrast. Each one of us in this
group have felt that way and each moment seemed hard at first. I
always feel the need to be "spiritually plugged in" to understand and
deal with the task on hand.
>

I still slip, I still get frustarted, I still cry and lament over
what I am dealing with. I allow all negative emotions to flow away
from my body. That is my DETOX. When I do that, my inner spirit finds
a room to express the stronger side in me which was entwined among
all other negative emotions.

That is what I feared with the enzymes. Thanks for letting me know about the

"What type of organism is it. ? amoeba or other protozoa?"

It is a single celled organism. It used to be classified as a yeast, but since
