We just got word from our landlord that our treatment is starting next week. We
also found out (indirectly) that our problem was a gift from our neighbors who
have since left, and that townhouse is also being treated at the same times we
will be. I guess this explains why we haven't been bitten, but have been
finding live bugs (only 6 so far, we're lucky).
I found a little information on this PackTite unit (packtite.com) through the
bedbugger website and was wondering if anyone has used it. We have three people
in our house, and two of the three of us are full-time graduate students, so we
have been concerned about text books that we can't put into storage for 18
months and also can't put through the dryer. It sounds like this unit would be
a solution for items that can't be put into the dryer (including shoes), but I
was wondering if anyone has used it. It is about $300, but that seems
relatively cheap compared to having to pay for a re-treatment if it turns out we
still have them.
Also, if anyone has any other suggestions for what to do with the shoes and
books without having to put them into storage, that would be awesome. The
bedbugger website has a lot of information on items that are washable, but seems
to be lacking the information about other items.
