hi all,
i just joined this group. i'm not sure yet if i have bedbugs but mayeb you guys will know.
i've been getting these bug bites for the past few months. i can't remember exactly when it started though or if it only started once i moved to my new apt (november). they look like flea bites (from the photos i saw online), itch like crazy and last for several days. i don't get bites in a row but single bites. i have no pets and have not had any animals in my apartment since i moved in here in late october (so probably not fleas). i have so far gotten bites around my abdomen, hips and pelvis area (like where the elastic of my underwear sits on my legs), on my arms and wrists, once on my hand. i might have gotten one on my leg too. they all end up scarring. i usually get only one bite every few days (or 2 at most), or sometimes every 2 weeks or so. this has been going on for some time now (several months?). i have checked my bed carefully (and vacuumed it, washed sheets in hot water, etc.) and don't see any signs of bed bugs (blood, droppings or bugs themselves). i have read that bed bugs are usually visible. i am guessing that if they are fleas or bed bugs, they would have multiplied by now to the point of visibility (for bed bugs) or more bites more often.. but i still only get one every few days or so. i haven't seen any signs of blood, droppings, the bugs themselves or their shells anywhere (though perhaps i need to look more closely).i'm starting to wonder if they are bedbugs, but i don't want to call pest control until i know for sure because i know the pesticides are toxic, just in case they aren't bedbugs.
does this sound like bedbugs?
thanks!
helen.
