This group is designed to help families of children with autism in the Bryan / College Station area. Anyone affected by autism can join to learn from and share with each other. We learn the most from other parents, so please use this group to help other parents.
We do encourage sharing information on local resources (schools, doctors, etc.) but please be careful when offering criticism. Please cite specific examples of problems you have encountered and avoid slandering our local professionals.
For anyone who has not heard yet, a new parent support group for autism called FACETS - Families of Autistic Children Engaged Together for Support - was started in Fall 2007 by Miriam Aune and is open to everyone. Please join us the second Tuesday of each month at Brazos Valley Rehab Center from 6:30 to 8:30pm during the school year. Locations for summer gatherings vary. Please check our website or e-mail for more information. For more information or to RSVP, contact Jessica or Dione at facetsbcs@gmail.com .
