We have just received an email which states it is from Axis Bank. The email is part of fraud/scam.
On clicking where it is written "click here" it goes to a fraud site which looks exactly like that of Axis Bank.
It even has a Verisign Security Seal which takes to original Verisign verification.
The only major difference would be the website address.
We are sending this email urgently because the fraud site/link is currently/still active at the time of sending this email.
Any person who would have entered his ID#, PIN, Password etc. into duplicate site would lose ALL HIS MONEY IN THE ACCOUNT!!!
If you have already entered into a wrong site, RIGHT NOW change all passwords and inform your bank also.
NEVER CLICK ON A LINK IN YOUR EMAIL TO GOTO ANYBANK WEBSITE.
AVOID USING LINKS FROM SEARCH ENGINE to goto your bank website.
Manually type your bank's website address and check for lock symbol at the bottom of the page (status bar of browser). All banks login page would be using SSL or similar encryption.
In case of the smallest doubt about the website address call up your bank and find out details.
Disclaimer : BangaloreMT.com is not associated with any bank especially Axis Bank and above information is based on personal experience and may not be complete in all aspects. If you have any doubts in general about netbanking, reply to this mail and we will try to help you within our limits.
*******************************
We have reported the fraudent site to google, mcafee siteadvisor, verisign, and will also mail to the axis bank, but it would take some time before site may be pulled down, but fradulents may create a new site by that time.
