RE: [baltimorebariatrics] I miss drinking diet soda

I am four and a half years out and I have been drinking diet soda for about 3 years.  It doesn’t cause me any physical problems, but I agree that it may add to my cravings for sugar.  I know that there are studies out there that show that dieters who drink diet soda lose less weight, some have even asserted that aspartame increases appetite (don’t know about that, but I do know I am struggling to keep my weight down).

I am almost 5 years post op and have had maybe 5 swallows of soda total and only because there was nothing else.   I wouldnt drink regular because I refuse to drink my calories and I dont drink diet because the artificial sweetners make me crave more sugar.  also I believe that the carbination swells my tummy and makes me feel like crap so i just skip it all together. I do know lots of people to drink diet soda daily and have no issues.

Can anyone tell me when I might be able to drink soda again?
I sometimes miss it.
And why can't we drink it?
Thanks
