I didn't have to do the 6 month weights, but in the time between, I
actually lost weight because I told myself that I needed to cut back,
say goodbye to overeating and start to change my behavior and
relationship with food.
I always suggest that potential patients begin therapy also.
In case you didn't see Oprah's show on Gastric By Pass patients that
started cross addictions, such as alcohol, drugs, sex, shopping, etc
after they could no longer self medicate with food, you should research
this and know that the reasons you have an addiction to overeating and
eating for the wrong reasons, need to be dealt with in your mind, not
on the operating room table.
The real work, on a wholistic basis is worth it.
I am 5+ years out and very happy and successful in this new life of
moderation in eating, good food choices, good health, etc.
Good Luck, Mary
